Out of School Youth (16-21 yrs.):
Palmetto Motorsports specializes in training at-risk youth job skills and help them become self-sufficient and workforce ready. The following is a list of opportunities available to these students:
- GED: Those students who have dropped out of high school and not acquired their GED must do so while in the PALM program. On-site GED tutors are available upon request to help them in this endeavor.
- Earn While You Learn: Unlike most schools, Palmetto Motorsports actually pays their students to come to class. Each student earns minimum wage while attending class.
- College Credit: Students who are interested in higher education will be pleased to know that they can receive college credit for the classes they attend. Palmetto Motorsports has recently partnered with Greenville Technical College and their Motorsports Program. Students attend the eligible classes at PALM headquarters and then have the opportunity for a full scholarship to Greenville Tech.
- Certifications: PALM's welding program certifies students in MIG and TIG welding through the American Welding Society (AWS), the nation's leading welding organization. This looks great on resumes and is recognized by professionals everywhere!
- Special Events: All students are encouraged to participate in local and regional special events. This includes everything from Saturday night races at the Myrtle Beach Speedway to Daytona Beach, Florida for annual car shows! These special events are at no cost to the students and provide great opportunities to network with area professionals!
- Job Placement: Once students have completed their classes and the instructors find them competent in their new skills, students are offered job opportunities all over the nation! Instructors always attend students' first day on the job to ensure that every student is ready and understands his/her position and the tools he/she will be working with.

Adults (21 & up):
Palmetto Motorsports is a great opportunity for unemployed, under-employed, unskilled, under skilled adults as well as youth. PALM courses provide students with the skills they need to succeed in the demand-driven motorsports, aviation and automotive industries. Here is a list of more opportunities adults can gain from the PALM program:
- Hands-on Training: Unlike many automotive tech schools, PALM does not rely heavily on lecture. The instructors of Palmetto Motorsports believe the more hands-on activities and lessons students have, the more they will learn and, more importantly, understand.
- Real-World Situations: Each class has a project to work on that will either be displayed to the public or sold; all proceeds going back into the school for future projects. These are real cars with real problems and it is up to the students and instructors to put them back together again.
- Stipends: Palmetto Motorsports not only teaches job skills to help individuals succeed in the workforce, students actually get paid to come to class.
- Certifications: PALM's welding program certifies students in MIG and TIG welding through the American Welding Society (AWS), the nation's leading welding organization. This looks great on resumes and is recognized by professionals everywhere!
- Special Events: Sometimes the classroom isn't enough, so regular field experiences are arranged by instructors for students. These events range from guest lectures and job site shadowing to Myrtle Beach Speedway races and car shows around the coast! These events are great opportunities to network with area professionals and get a glimpse of workforce reality.
- Job Placement: Once students have acquired the skills necessary to succeed in the workforce, they are offered jobs, apprenticeships and/or internships from around the area to across the nation!
